Creating W2K8 Domain from scratch

I'm hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction for this. I've created a forest and have basic DNS setup on primary domain controller but would lke to get as much setup on this as I can as a training excercise.

Does anyone know of any good material that will talk you through setting up group policy, forest trusts etc?

I know there are some bits on the Mircosoft site but I've found it quite hard to weed through the other docs that I dont want.

What I have to play with:

W2K8 R2 Server (x2)
W7 Ultimate workstation

All 3 are VMs on an ESX host

Any advice would be helpful

Depends on what you are looking to do on the network... You could follow the quickstart guides Here a few good guides on there.

There are loads of books on the subject, if you want to learn directly then start to deploy services on the DC's and file services, experiment with DFS replication, try enabling QoS on GP etc

The tutorials on Petri are always very easy to follow and offer up a half decent reason for doing a particular thing
