Creative A60 2.0 Speaker System ?

Got my mother the Acer Iconia B1-710 7 Inch Tablet which needs a serious sound boost was looking at the Creative A60 2.0 speakers from overclockers and was wondering if the speakers could by powered by a usb plug as the tablet only has micro usb connector on it and just use the 3.5 mm audio jack to connect for the sound ??

The speakers are mains powered. You can get USB powered speakers, but these will drain down the tablet battery. If you want some speakers that don't require mains power, then you can get some that have a built in rechargeable battery. Something like a X Mini capsule speaker.

Another option would be a Logitech Bluetooth receiver. Just connect to that whatever speakers you like.
