more crap from creative. only to be expected really.....

i've just tried them and they're awful. i only need stereo output but listening to music with these drivers is terrible. i can't believe how flat the sound is. yesterdays xfi drivers sound much better with my audigy2 so i'm going back to those. :p

Outstanding, so they've not actually done anything with these drivers apart from remove the Beta tag.

The chances of me buying another creative product are dropping very fast.

I'm in the same boat as you mate. My Audigy2 zs went west a while ago & no way was I buying another Creative card until they had sorted the drivers out.

Dont know what I'm gonna do now

Thank GOD I've got one of the oldest sound systems on the market. I have the Sounbalster Extigy (The Original) In fact I have 2 but am keeping one as a backup. I use the Onboard sound from each Motherboard and use SoundMax Audio on my ASUS MOBO'S . On one I use the optical output and on the other I use SPDIF for HD Audio whereby I avoid all the who-ha! of downloading the latest drivers for one of the most expensive sound solutions on the market and having crap for sound. Not six months ago Creative were boasting that they were ready for Vista and were out to support Tru HD sound for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. They can't even support the hardware drivers for the Operating system yet.
The Extigy has a USB Port on the rear for plugging into the PC but I have always got the best results from it by using the Onboard devices on current Motherboard configurations. And besides, The Motherboard manufacturers sound chip suppliers seem to keep up to date on sound devices. I even tested Ultimate on my old P4C800-E Deluxe setup the other day. the only problem I had with that MB was the Promise Fastrack SATA driver and that was an Intel MOBO.
To hear or not to hear........ That is the question.

So are there no other differences? The beta drivers I tried a while back were poor which is another reason I haven't bought Vista. Music sounds much better in XP than in Vista, on my Audigy 2.

@marc2003, I'm surprised that the XiFi drivers would install on an Audigy 2?

Are you saying that it is poss to use the xfi drivers for the Audigy2 card?
or have I just read your post copletely wrong :D
I'm also only using stereo (well 2:1)
The beta driver that Creative have issued at present just muffles the sub
