Creative DDTS-100 and S750 Gigaworks

Is it a good low budget choice for HTPC?

If you are set on buying some PC speakers then go for the Logitech Z-5500 THX® Certified 5.1 505 Watts Speakers

Oh, and don't bother with the creative DTS decoder thingy. It makes absolutely no sense at all!

Look at the new X-Mystique X-plosion cards which encode DTS audio in real time without the need for converting into the analogue domain again. The Logitech speakers pick up DTS sound and decode it themselves.

Can someone got into details to why I shouldn't buy this DDTS and S750 Package.

After all, £60 for the DDTS and £120, for S750, makes this a cheapish 7.1 package, which to me seems fine for a HTPC system.

Just let your soundcard do the upmixing and DD/DTS decoding. Buying the DDTS decoder thing won't be worth it at all really.

I use the DDTS and S750 speakers. I have to admit I am very pleased with the results. Sound quality is excellent. The DDTS is easy to use use as well.
