Hi, just got a new mother board and chip, started to install everythin, my sound was working on windows default and then I installed my creative drivers, from the cd.

Sound stopped working, when I went on audio hq, it said cannot load plugins, so I removed the drivers using Add/Remove and the sound still didnt work.

Bit stuck with that now and also I have a process running, which doesnt shut down and stops my pc from shutting down permanently running called devldr.exe, it has it running at least 5 times in Task manager. I had a look on google and its from the creative but I cant get rid of it. Any ideas?

Any help on this or just gettin the sound working at all would be appreciated. Thanks

After the PC has POSTed (shown cpu speed, ram amount etc), the screen will go black, then windows loading screen comes up. If you press F8 when the screen goes black, you should get the boot menu. Select the Safe mode option.
You could download DriverCleaner, install that and use it in safe mode to remove any sign of the driver once you have uninstalled.
What sound card is it? Onboard, PCI card?

its a soundblaster live card 5.1, just had to spend ages messing around in Safe Mode trying to get rid of some spyware, I was this (--) close to throwin the computer off the desk.

Stressed enough as it is.

I cant download the drivers off the site and when I put the cd in it doesnt work, what do you suggest I do, I'll give that Disccleaner a go for now.
