I bought these after my old behringer set died.

The clarity, bass and sound is amazing.

my only gripe is there so tight fitting on your head, they may need time to loosen tho i guess :S

I recommend fully totally worth my £30

got the HS-800 as a mate said a usb port was worse for sound , i dont know anything abou sound so listened to him.

You recommend a cheapish decent soundcard for it ?

Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Sound Card.

I know 3 people with it and works like a charm, especially on games, awesome 7.1ch 3D Surround. Assuming your headset supports it.
They're here on OCUK but I got a cheaper one off an auction site.

the x-fi on the £40 cards is kinda 'fake' and still uses the cpu for processing.
for gaming you will probably want the £60+ sound cards, which have the 'real' x-fi chip on the card which does all the processing instead of the cpu.

I think the cables on these headphones are too weak:

Its not too clear in the picture, but the second pair are also strongly bent at the same point where the first snapped. It did last for a few years though, but they gradually seem to weaken and may eventually break.

I got mine at £20 each though, and quite some time apart, but I wouldnt pay £30 for them now instead of buying something better up to the £50 price point.

I really wish that there were some comparable wireless headsets at the same price point.

Yea the new corsair ones I ordered have a braided cable, and a reinforced flexible plastic covering over where my Creatives snapped. They also have bigger and deeper ear pieces and look a lot more comfortable. I'll find out exactly what they are like tomorrow.

Just as I thought it would be, the cable on my new Corsairs is really nice. Its braided and strong, and is reinforced and flexible at the point where it connects to the headphones (where the creatives weaken and snap).

However, the bass output on them isnt even 25% of the bass on the Creative Fatalities, but they are also far far more comfortable with their bigger earpieces. They no longer press against my ears, they fit around them :)

I just tried swapping the ear pads on the Corsairs to the leather ones, and they made the bass noticeably louder, almost as good as the Creatives were, but with the bass slider turned all the way up.

Comparison pic of the cables:

The corsair cable looks and feels much stronger :)
