Right i've only had this headset for a week. It's a great Headset for the price.

I'm having one slight problem with it, other then listning to music, using skype, movies etc it works fine, other then MUMBLE.

For some reason i have to restart computer to get it work. Disconnect a few times, or even restart Mumble a few times before it gets working.

Problem is the Mic sounds like Predator/Fish Bowl style Sound, wells thats what everyone say on my mumble channel.

Is there anything i can do?

Been using USB Headset for years and never had this problem.

Any help please?

I'd check Windows and the drivers for your system are all up to date first - especially USB.

Could be worth checking power settings to make sure stuff like USB ports aren't disabled after a while or if your PC goes to standby after a while?

Try different USB ports?

Does the USB soundcard for the headset also have drivers which can be updated?

When it doesn't work, does the default sound device change from the headset?

Voice quality issues can be a sign of lack of bandwidth sometimes etc but if you never had problems with the last headset you used then I guess that's less likely.

Well I'd look at updating the soundcard drivers - whatever you've got

If your mic sounds weird on Mumble I would check which device is configured as your default input device. I occasionally get told I sound weird and I find that the default input device has changed to the **** mic in my webcam instead of my headset :( Shame I can't disable it without stopping the cam from working properly!

The cable could be picking up interference. I've had to move my microphone cable away from other cables around the back of my PC, due to a friend telling me I sound like I'm underwater. Since I've done that, it's considerably better.

Worth a shot. :)

Well, i've got a green/pink colour jacks at the front, which i tried same problem.

Of course using my sound card, and same problem.

Built in sound card, same problem.

I've used all three methods and still get the irratating noise that everyone says in Mumble.

Have you tried other VOIP software? Likely it's a problem that isn't anything to do with Mumble at all, but it can't hurt to try another, just to rule that out.

Tried a different mic? Speedlink clipon mic from OCuK would be a cheap way to try a different one if you cant find another one :D

Before i got the Creative headset i used my trusty microsoft livechat 3000 model for good few years. Worked perfect. Even used it a little while ago just to double check.

Yea iv not used another one. Will try out ventrilo and the others to see if i have the same problem. If it does persist then i will have to go back to my Microsoft headset for gaming/mumble.
Creatiive headset for music/movies.

Try as many different combinations as you can and see what the common denominator is! Headset in other PCs.. Other Soundcards in your PC and vice versa etc

If your headset still seems like the issue then it probably is :/ If it's still playing up you can always return it for another or just ask for your money back?
