Creative front bay question

Hey,
Ive been thinking to buy a new sound card with them front bay things that pop into the front, but im curious to how they work. I use my headphones a lot, if sounds is playing and I plug my headphones into the bay, this will cause my speakers to mute right? I understand the speakers are plugged into the back of the sound card, and the headphones go into the bay. Which takes priority

There's an option to enable or disable that feature. Also you can set a separate profile for headphones which can also be automatically enabled when you plug them in.

Odd question, sorry to take the thread on a random twist but are there any other sound cards out there with front panels?

My Terratec DMX6Fire has a very nice front panel. Out of production now and drivers are poor for Vista. I've just replaced it with an Xfi..
