I think they are a pretty good set of speakers. I've only had mine for about a month or so. I used to own a set of Creative Digital Inspire 5.1 5700's, but X-fi was incompatible with it so I had to upgrade my damn speakers as well. Was not best pleased about that. But since I got my G500 I am pretty glad I did. The bass is pretty amazing compared to the 5700's. Saying all that I have no idea how the logitech compare to the G500. Anyone else?
The Logitech Z5500 is proberbly going to be louder in the bass department with its 10" driver, i think the Z680's are too but logitech sets tend to be quite boomy, i think the G500 will have overall better quality sound because it has tweeters, its also cheaper too, round about Logitech Z5400 price.
What are the physical dimensions of the subwoofer box on the G500?
Also, with the Logitech 5.1 sets, e.g. Z-5400, are their centre/subwoofer inputs standard/compatible with the outputs of a X-Fi?
Prefer the look of the Logitech sets, the satellites on the G500 tend to remind me of back shelf car speakers from the early eighties...
