Hi Chaps,

I bought the Wife a Muvo for Christmas so she can listen to music on't bus to and from work next year!. (She didn't want an iPod... plus I don't like iTunes!)

I'm having a problem installing it!...

When I connect it to my PC's USB (USB 2.0 port on my Abit NF8-V2 - 3400+, 512mb, XP-Home etc..) it takes upwards of 5 minutes to install the 'USB Mass Storage Device', then it just sits for another 5 or so minutes with the New Hardware bubble in the bottom corner saying 'Hard Disk'.

It then prompts me to re-boot... thats it!... when I get back into windows theres nowt in Explorer or the Drive Management... but it shows in the Device Mangler and the 'Safely remove hardware' thing...

But I can't access the Drive

I've tried restoring to a previous restore point (of 3 days ago) each time I re-install (I've tried it in every single port on my Hub and PC - thats 14 ports/re-installs) each time I can't get onto the drive!...

I also tried installing it to my 5 year old Laptop with a USB 1.1 port and it worked!... but none of our 30Gb of music is on the lappy (Hdd is too small!!).

Anyone with a Muvo (or even a Zen) know how I might sort this as I don't want to have to take it back (just yet!)...

Cheers
Sim :(

you cant access it when its plugged in ??? my zen came with a disc with some programs on havbe you installed that ? allthough in theory to just acess t he disc normally you shouldnt need to,

The Muvo's just a USB stick Drive with a power sheath for the playback bits!.

It should (in theory) just plug in and show as a 'removable drive'!... but its not installing the 'Mass storage bit'...

anyone know why this might be??. :( :(

I've got a Creative Muvo, and it just plugs in and goes.

try the motherbard mounted ports, not the ones that cable out to the front of the PC

and/or

delete the USB device in Device Manager and let windows rediscover its USB hardware

check it works on another PC
