This fixed my Vista 64 bit crashes.
Can I ask what problems you had?

I've got the X-Fi music and every so often (at least once every time i use my pc...) the system hangs and then resumes? Mainly when playing .mp3's :(

I'm on Vista x64.

I installed them along with the beta console launcher and every sound played about 1.5x speed...the frequency was all high...sampled some Kansas and Michael Jackson and it sounded like they were singing chipmunks!

I cleared everything out and reinstalled the beta drivers and it works fine...I assume the culprit was the new beta console so beware.

Some got issues unless a clean install, I was fine with a upgrade.

CMSS is broke, mines is on up mix mode regardless, WMP gives a error when you try to play a .WMV until you accept its MSG to turn off X-FI enhancements (the broken CMSS).

The sound is a lot better and far louder at lower Volume settings, even the BASS for 1st time is nearly natural not a thump or clunk.

Actually sod it, I cba messing with CREATIVE beta drivers and risking my OS !

I installed just the beta driver today (not the console) and now Windows Media player doesn't recognise any of my media... Is this normal :D

The driver seems okay on my system, but I'll have to go back to the regular driver if I can't fix this MP issue.

I get this for everything...

You have to goto control panel/sounds. Apparently on opening it you will receive a message about problematic sound enhancements, and asks if you would like to disable them. Choose yes, and you should be able to play music again.

It's down to Creative's driver team breaking CMSS3D in the beta driver. Quite how they managed to do that when it worked fine in previous releases is beyond me, but they have proven their incompetence before.

They spent all that time making up a nice new driver selection website and the drivers are beta

I won't be buying Creative cards again when this one dies....

To be fair, their drivers have always been beta (or alpha, depending on how bitter you're feeling).

Lol very true, I'm on Vista 64 bit with 4gb RAM and the last driver release seem to work fine so I'm not changing until the next release
