I don't wish to knock OcUK or TwsT, but is it a great deal?

While you can say you're getting £230 speakers for £100, those speakers better be damn good for their £230 price tag, because there are a lot of very good speakers to be had from £100-£200 from companies with a history of producing great speakers.

For anyone considering this bundle, personally, I'd wait until there more reviews and opinions on them. They may be very good for a £100 price tag, but if they're not as good as other £200 speakers, then the thought of getting £230 speakers for £100 in a deal with theh X7, doesn't sound quite as good as the price reduction suggests.

Sorry for being negative, but it would be very easy for Creative to bump up the price of the XM7 speakers, then knock £130 off in a deal with the X7.

It is possible yes

I assume the speakers will be at can jam with teh X7

As a bundle I would personally say the price is spot on. the speakers make all the noise you would want them to I was impressed with the sound, you may well be right that they aren't worth £200. but not much I can do about that :) I did try to see if i could track down an OEM but i suspect i'd have to cut them open.

I'd assume the speakers are designed and produced by E-MU - I don't think they rebadge other OEMs but I don't know a huge amount about them other than they have been around a long time in the audio world and were bought by creative.

(My first ever proper soundcard was made by E-MU).

£230 that's Monitor Audio Bronze 1/BX2 pricing, but I seriously doubt these creative speakers come anywhere close in terms of sound.

Got a feeling that even the Q Acoustics Q3010 that I bought last week at £129 would sound better than these creatives :p

I doubt they are £230 worth but E-MU don't usually produce tat either - most of their products have been fairly well regarded over the years.

I would imagine so they are certainly good for the bundle deal I haven't enough experience with £250 speakers to say how well they go £ for £ i hope creative will be pushing them out for review to the correct places.

You're right they don't make tat, and I'm sure they are decent speakers for the £100 that they cost with the X7. It's just that many people will see the £130 off, and assume they are better speakers than they actually are, just because they cost £230 on their own.

There are no real reviews for these speakers yet, so really we've no idea how they even compete with £100-£130 speakers. Marine mentioned the QA 3010. Many people will discount those, just because these Creative's cost £230 and they can get them for £130 less, so in their mind the XU7 must be better.

That's my issue with what on paper looks like a great deal.
