Hi guys,
I am just patching up an old machine for a mate, twas in an aweful state (crashing etc) but it is all cleaned up and working well. I think the problem may have been an IRQ conflict or something proper oldschool.
Anyways the machine originally had an SB-LIVE! Value? I think (pictured above right) but I have an old Audigy 2 in my draw that was reclaimed from another PC.
What I would like to know is what are the main differences between the two cards above? Obviously they have different sound processors but I'm not sure what the Audigy2 offers over the much older LIVE! (apart from a firewire port of course!).
My mate who this is for does dabble in a little music production (fruity loops?), plays some light games and watches DVD/Films on his PC.
If anyone can highlight the main differences between the two cards it would be appreciated!

P.S: This system is old, Socket A *Palomino* running on a VIA Apollo KT333, is there any old-school issues with this chipset and a creative soundcard?
