hello.

i have been having major problems with my Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty soundcard.
i have had it since march 2007 and was fine for a couple of months, very pleased with it.

but it has now got to the stage where it will not boot my pc if the card is installed.
i have done my best to see it working again. but one moment it will work.

next moment i will turn my pc on. the pc will not post/boot so i have to take the soundcard out in order for the pc to actually boot into windows. i have sent in a RMA request from *****.

but im quite sad that the card is very poorly designed via the pins on the back that connects to the internal drive bay addon. i believe that the pins are causing the card to not boot the pc. as its very easy for the pins to get bent.

i would love to know if anyone else had or is having a simular problem with this card?
i have been looking for a replacement now. and after searching for awhile it would seem they released a Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 Sound Card but after checking the card it looks like they still have the poorly designed pins on the back of the card again...

should i wait for a upgrade...?
or buy the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 Sound Card?

as the card i originaly own is now discontinued from *****

regards, Cezare

i would take the competitor name out of the OP.

on the subject i would get the Auzentech. a lot of people have said it was a good time to change over due to the problems creative have been having

sorry forgot i put that in. changed it now.

yea i may try and get a refund or a replacement for this model. seems to be better.
though that card also has the pins on it aswell. wish they didnt as they are easly bent and that is what is causing problems on mine i think.

i done my best to fix it, but just getting worse and worse with trying to boot my pc.
