Creative/Vista and Skype.

Me and a friend both have the same setup - Basically all we can hear is crackling, however when we record ourselves on the windows recorder we sound fine.

Any ideas what could be causing this ? same with vent/ts too btw
tried most skype like programs with no joy =/

if you can record yourself ok, and it happens on more than one program it's more likely a problem with your connection. when i am at uni, i get terrible noise on skype because they block all udp ports there, maybe one of you is blocking the udp port skype uses? Have you tried setting up port forwarding maybe?
