Creative X-Fi modes

I really apologise if this has been asked before but I can't seem to get a clear cut answer.

Do the different modes affect performance? i.e. do you get better performance in games when using the gaming mode? Would I lose performance if I just stayed with the entertainment mode?

Game mode difinately makes a difference. You wont be able to enable EAX if not in game mode when playing games. e.g in Quake 4 i could not enabled EAX when still in entertainment mode. Game said something like 'unsupported...'. however when i changed to Game mode the option in the game let me enable EAX.

To make things easier get the x-fi mode changer which automatically changes the mode for you

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to use the gaming mode for music and movies? Whats the advantage of the entertainment mode?

I mainly use headphones and like neutral sound without any enhancements or audio effects.
