Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

Hi there,

I just got this sound card this morning and it's been running fine so far on Vista x64.

The only problem i have is i can't seem to get my mic to work. My headset is plugged into the correct ports, but when i go to the sound options in the control panel, it says it's not plugged in.

Anyone got any idea on how to get it working?.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

edit: nevermind, i was looking around google and it seems these cards have mic problems and usually don't work. I guess the card is going back for a refund, good sound card, but no point in using it if i can't use my mic.

I've tried everything and the mic just won't seem to be recognized in the sound control panel. After looking through google it seems it's a known problem with this card and no one knows why.

I actually changed to the Titanium Fatal1ty from an Auzentech Prelude, the prelude also has mic problems and they just haven't fully fixed it yet. On my prelude the mic works right away, but still has it's problems. I thought maybe the new sound cards would be fine, but i guess i was wrong.

I've just decided to go back to my prelude since it is an awesome sound card and has worked great on Vista x64. I guess i can just use a USB mic, which is not a problem.

From the brief time you had them both, any comments on Prelude vs Titanium in terms of sound quality. What were you using to listen?

I usually use my sennheiser headphones to listen to music, games, or films, i also have logitech 2.1 speakers. I can't really say i noticed any difference with the Titanium, probably just the same as the prelude, but both cards are very good.

The built quality of the prelude is much better than any creative card i've seen.

Well i've already sent it back for a refund. I don't really know why i bought it in the first place since the mic isn't really a big problem.

I'm happy to use a USB mic for the moment.
