Hi there,

I'm just wondering if this card:

Will connect to the front panel of my Antec 900 case. I have a headphone / microphone jack, and currently use a Creative Fatality headset. The product details claim to have an Intel HD connectors, but I'm unsure as to whether there will be the appropriate connectors/cables supplied with the card.

Alternatively, I am purchasing these 5.1 speakers:

Apparently the desktop control-module includes 'Microphone and Headphone' jacks. If connected to the Creative card through the back of the case, will this module effectively run the headset/microphone through the Xtreme Gamer, or through the onboard Realtek sound?

I asked this question a few weeks ago, but the thread was deleted. Perhaps this because I mentioned another retailer having the G51 speakers in stock when OCUK didn't... I apologize if this caused an issue or broke any rules!

Regards,

No response?

would have thought this was a fairly simple question for you audio enthusiasts :(.

Have ordered the 2 items now (as well as a nice new 22 inch widescreen LCD)- so hopefully my continued loyalty to OCuK will be repaid with at least some help or guidance- haha!

Dont know the answer, but imagine like all my past Creative cards, you can Google the pinouts and connect wires from your case to the Soundcard headers.

The Extreme Gamer is very basic and bare though.

Mhmm, I had heard of the custom DIY-electronic tutorials going around. I was just confused as the somewhat misleading product description says that it includes "Low-profile PCI format with Intel HD compatible front panel connector". Buying lots of random wires and electrical equipment and soldering your own PCB doesn't sound like an included front panel connector to me!

It really bothers me that Creative do this with all of their Audigy / X-Fi products. It's quite ridiculous- it is so simple and cheap to offer this functionality, yet instead they try to 'force' consumers to buy their more expensive Fatality Champion series with the entire front panel. Very cheeky marketing.
