I have this setup and i get cracking from my speakers and poping noises and i dont know why i have tried chaning the connecting and re puting them back and i dont know whats casuing them!

Changed pc spec and i stil get the same problem this is what i have now what do you think speakers? they are now 8 months old, Can i take em back to pc wrld where i bought em

I have updated all the drivers for the motherboard, graphic card, sound card, and all the windows updates to and stil no chagne! Any ideas ave looked the forums on oc creative and Logitech not much help

Are you running the most up-to-date X-Fi drivers? I know they've just realeased some new ones to help with sound problems. Also is the BIOS up-to-date on the mobo? Have you tried the card in another PCI slot... perhaps furthest away from the CPU?

i have the latest drivers in the from creative they are beta version as for upgrading bios on my motherboard i don't know what to select and i am scared of ruining my motherboard altogether

i have an extreme music and i only get crackling when im using 24bit 96000hz asio and only when i use my pitch bend wheel on my keyboard

Have you perhaps tried the X-Fi in a different PCI slot on the mobo? Hopefully you should have three or four to choose from, so perhaps try moving the card to the PCI slot furthest from anything else, such as the graphics card, incase heat is causing the problem. If that doesn't work, does the mobo have on-board sound which you could enable to rule out if it's the speakers causing the cracking?

Speakers was crackling on onboard sound then i changed to sound blaster audigy, then i had the abit mobo now i have a gigabye mobo and i havent tried chaning the pci slot, i dont know if its the card i got speakers replace to same model from pcwrld this morning and they stil cracking and pop and sound cuts out so could it possible be the soundcard?

But i have tried
recoonecting all the speakers
updated bios
updated creative software after uninstalling everything
updated creative drivers after reinstallation
disabled on board sound


it could just be the speakers or maybe not?
but i noticed yesterday while playing dod source they poped and sound had gone and then poped again and they came back - what does that sonud like to you?

tried renegades speakers on my creative sound card they was poping and crackling and lost sound during games and music, then took back sound card and now got it replace stil the same with the speakers so i have ordered the altec lansing 5100 speakers and i know they caused no problems with poping and crackling on my computer when i tried them with the new sound card,

Hope all goes well when i get them i now have a spare set of 5.1s lol
