I don't have a solution, but thought i would add to this, becuase i've been having the same problem but with my Creative Zen Micro too.

well have u treid resseting it, dont know if it has one but mine did a little hole at the bottom, turned put my battery was so flat it took 40mins to get minimal life to switch on so i would leave yours on charge for an hour or so and see what happens
