Hey guys,

I am looking for a new MP3 player, but I am not interested in lots of features, and I want to keep the cost low. I recently sold my Sony NW-HD3 (20GB) to a mate, because frankly it was rubbish. The shuffle function wouldn't work right, I was forced to use the rubbish Atrac3 proprietary format, I couldn't copy music back from the player if I reformatted my HDD, etc. The problems never ended.

I also have a really strong hatred of Sony as of late, and am actively boycotting their products, so I am not interested in buying another Sony player. You couldn't give me one for free.

So, I am now looking at other brands. As I said, I want to keep cost down and I am not interested in a huge amount of features, and 1GB capacity is enough for me. I have been looking at iRiver as I had a player of theirs in the past and it was the best I've ever owned, but all their current models seem a little too rich in features and price for my needs.

Last night I came across the Creative Zen Nano Plus with 1GB solid-state storage capacity. It seems ideal for my needs, especially at a £45 price-point, but I have a couple of questions: -

1.) Does it come with decent earphones?
2.) Is the battery life on these decent?
3.) Can I use rechargeable AAA batteries, or am I stuck with normal ones?
4.) Does it really scratch as easily as people say it does?
5.) Is there any reason at all to avoid this seeming bargain?

And finally: 6.) Is the MobiBLU 2GB a better option at £80?

That's all for now, thanks in advance for any advice.

P.S. If this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

Sincerely yours,
Ulfhedjinn.
