Well as unlikely as it I have been accepted for an Amex card without being on the electoral roll
But they understandably want details of id etc
However I am unsure as to if anyone on the list of approved professions can do it

Here's the list

I personally don't know any of these people, can I just go to the bank and ask for this to be signed?

no point in paying really

post office and bank are my only real options..whether they will do it or not i dont know.

It's a service offered at post office, you don't need to know the person.

did not know this.. i bet theres a charge.. ill have a look.. there is a charge but i will use this, no alternative..thanks mate

Halifax wont do it, i just rang them, looks like the post office it is, glad i didnt make the trip into town!

Post office charge like £7 or something stupid...I walked out

Then I just went to my bank and they did it for free. They even have pre-prepared stamps for this sort of thing.

Mine won't do it. Which I'm a bit annoyed about, wouldn't take 2 minutes.
Halifax btw

I asked Halifax before to sign passport photos - they refused. I'm getting a decent wedge of cash next year and I'll let it land in my account then I'm moving banks - the *****.

i was thinking of moving to first direct (have been for a while now) ill mention this as a reason.

This makes no sense - Halifax will probably look at you and think "Wait, you are moving to a telephony based bank because we won't sign your passport application"....

Think about it.....
