i've got an amex platinum - most major retailers accept it, and you get 5% cashback in the first 3 months, 1.5% after that

do HSBCs credit cards use a different online system to its banking, its not perfect, but i get on fine with HSBC online banking

Dunno, I don't have a HSBC account but with just a credit card it seems you can do very little, you can't even pay by debit card or make any changes to your account online. Oh and you get a stupidly long IB number to log in that I can never remember. Grrrrrrrr.

I only got the card to shove my car insurance on (0% for 12 months on purchases), will probably just pay the rest off next month and close it.

i also have a HSBC card that i no longer use - i bank with HSBC, and the credit card appears as an extra account on the online system, just like an ISA
