I've got a Sky account in my name for our flat (4 students) but the bank account where the D/D is taken from is in the name of another housemate. We didn't put enough £££ in the account so the D/D bounced last month.

Anyone know whose credit rating (report) this goes on?

It doesn't as it's not a credit agrement. It'd only go on your credit rating if you continually failed to pay, they took you to court and you got a CCJ.

If that did happen. I would imagine that it would be you who recieved the CCJ as it's your responsibility to pay for it, as it's in your name. The method of payment is irrelevent.

Hmmm, I'm sure I've seen many direct debits from Vodafone appear on my credit report before?

And even then 1 bounce doesn't really affect it, I missed a payment of a card after forgetting to post the DD form... I checked my credit rating a while back and they counted in 3 month blocks, 1 bounce was marked with a "1" and only if you had like 3 in the 3 months did you get a red mark against you. A single missed payment didn't make any difference to my score

missed payments on credit cards/other credit agreements go on your credit record. Bounced direct debits do not.

Even then it can take a couple of months for a missed payment to appear, so if you pay it off but a little late it often wont show. I wouldn't rely on that though.
