So ... Where do I start?

Heres my setup ...

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7950 3072MB GPU
Intel Core i5-3570K
Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH Intel Z77
Samsung Green 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 Ram
Samsung 120GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
Seasonic G Series 550w Modular PSU
Alpenfohn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler
Zalman z9 Plus Tower (not relevant but hey, you might aswell know)

So. I set it up myself, with a little help from friends. No problems. Was just using stock graphics as I didn't have a HDMI connection at work (where I was setting it up).

Then took it home and plugged in the HDMI cable to start it up and I get a screen full of weird colours (I can't access any image hosting sites so if someone can let me email them the photo and then host it for me that would be great).

So I returned it on an RMA and Overclockers say it works fine.

I can use DVI on the GPU fine, just not HDMI.

Any ideas? :(

No issue with the onboard graphics.

& No issue with DVI from the GPU (which is what I found most confusing) - I just found this which is identical to what I am getting ... http://static.daniweb.com/images/attachments/0/Evo_screen_pic.JPG

Don't know what version I am running. I will boot up tonight and find out.

*EDIT* - HDMI Cable works fine, use it with my laptop and Xbox, and it works with the onboard graphics, BUT, I have tried with another HDMI cable.

I will try the driver re-install first. Then I will try the reseat.

Tested it on two seperate monitors and the same issue happens!

HDMI provides sound and picture, unlike DVI. And anyway, it would just be nice to know that problem isn't there!

I'm going to update the bios and remove any drivers relating to the GPU tonight.

The GPU is on it's way back from the RMA as we speak, then I will drop it in and see what happens.

you should be able to run 2133mhz ram speed now,the first bios would only let you run 1866mhz

hope it fixes the gpu issue aswell

This means nothing to me ... Yet.

I am a bit of a newbie in terms of understanding all the tech behind the tech. I have built this rig as a learning platform to play around with when I get the chance.

Okay. So, I have inserted the new card, and all is working (thank god).

However, Windows Index has noticed that new hardware has been installed, however, Device Manager has not?
