Criticise Server Build

My HP Micro server died, so I am putting together a small build, which will be used for NAS, Media Streaming and also hosting a VoIP server. Also I will be doing a bit of game hosting. I will be using 4 x 2TB drives.

First of compatibility check please. Second of all is this machine a bit of overkill, especially is the PSU to high because this will be running 24/7 and I don't want it to be expensive to run.

Parts:

CPU- Intel Xeon E3-1230 - £180 from competitor.

It adds upto about £430 which is around my budget for the project.

Thanks for the advice I can fit 2 more drives in that, and it is cheaper! Updated my list.

I just choose a budget PSU that should be powerful enough.

Time to order soon I think. Thanks Idleman for your basket. After building I just have to get used to Windows Server 2012 Datacentre edition, looks a little different to 2008. Well at least I get it for free!

Sorry that was in my orignal case. I was using the two 5,25 and the two 3,5 for 4 3,5 hdds. Now I changed case its ok.

Rather than using the Xeon-E1230 I was thinking of using an I5 3570k instead since they are a similar price and the integrated graphics would be slightly better for Media Streaming function.

I know the Lower End Xeons are just identical to the I5 and I7's with things like IGPU disabled in order to run at lower temps and on less power ( so better for running 24/7).

So what do people think 3570k or E-1230.

Yeh I am planning on running a couple of VM servers on it . My orignal I7 series chips seem to work fine for running Virtual's, so are you saying there is issues with them?

Im not sure if I will need VT-d, because even though I will be running a few different server services through VM, none are particular intensive and I don't think really need native support for devices.

And for the latest Ivy-bridge in the same price band, I would get a much more powerful processor than I could with the E-1230.
