Hello and welcome :)

Please remove the link and name before a mod sees ;)

Just give component details.

:)

What is the main system use, I assume looking at the spec your into gaming?

Have you looked here for systems.

Sorry for the lack of info yes you are correct it's main purpose would be for gaming how ever I would use it for some general Internet browsing and word processing, I have only just come across this forum, I was also looking into building the computer my self if it works out the same price or cheaper however I havent built a computer since I made one with my dad in like 2001 and that was just a basic work station. Thanks

Are you able to advise on a budget as well and I'm sure someone could knock you up a rig from OCUK?.

For gaming you'll only need an I5 as opposed to I7 which will save you money.

Well the total cost of this build inc vat was £2100 so something around that mark I don't mind spending a little bit more but no more than £2500. I didn't have the option for an i5 on the website I changed it on t was originally a i7 six core but I thought that was silly. Thanks

The reason you didn't have an i5 option was because you were on a socket 2011 build (extreme i7 CPU only)

The i5 3570k is great for gaming, and a stunning Overclocker too..

£2500 is a nice healthy budget, do you need montior, keyboard, mouse?

Would you prefer one big monitor or 3 smaller ones? :)

Doomedspeed, do you reckon an i5 3570k + Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 and then something like Crossfired 7850/7950's?

I'm at work so can't do a basket :(

First off thanks for the replys I see what your saying, I have a razer naga mouse and a keyboard that are fine however I do need a monitor and I am currently looking into the best ones, I was currently looking at a 27". I have my old computer linked up to a 50" tv in my room but I will be moving that downstairs and want the new computer in my room and frankly the 50" is to big....

You've got adecent budget there so getting a capable machine wont be difficult and could probably be done for half the price. A few questions...

Single screen or 3 monitors? IPS or TN monitors?

Any interesst in 3D gaming?

Any preference as to NVIDIA or AMD.

Single video card or more?

Do you need an OS?

As Doomedspeed says, and i5-3570K is a solid starting point.

unless you get like 3 really good monitors, spending £1500-£1700 should be more than enough.

a £2500 machine and a £1500 machine will most likely last the same amount of time due to new tech outsourcing componants etc.

Thank you once again for your posts, at the moment I am yet to look at 3d gaming maybe in the future. Thanks you for your help doom, after looking through the components you have suggested, I only have one question, maybe a stupid one... I cant see a sound card, and after looking at the motherboard it says; VIA VT2021 codec High Definition Audio 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel w/ Support for S/PDIF Out. I'm assuming this means it supports a 7.1 surround sound card and isnt intergrated? Forgive my igonarance, its been a while since I have looked at building a computer.... this is a sound card i was looking at, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-001-AS&tool=3

The Sound card is integrated and supports up-to 7.1 surround sound.

Yeah, no need to the onboard sound on Motherboards nowadays are great. Unless your doing music production a sound card isn't really needed. :)

Told you it's been a while since I did this sort of thing when I looked before the general consensus was that all motherboard intergrated sound and grpahics cards where crap

Appriciate all the help, best get my self some mags and have a good read round on here and get my self back upto date. Just one last question in the future if I decide to over clock will it be relatively easy to add water cooling to this system?
