Evening all,
I've got a couple of Wordpress powered sites, one's my personal site and one is for my brothers fledgling company.
My own site is a butchered mix of a lot of themes, borrowed CSS ideas from here and there. The same goes for my brothers, but his is based on just one theme that I've altered quite heavily in Photoshop.
I'm not after a critique of the HTML or CSS validation, as I've already checked and they're crap - the aim of this weekend is to sit down and work through each of the errors until I can proudly display the badge. So all I'm after is more a general consensus on the look and feel of the sites - and any suggestions as to how they can be improved.
Next for the help
On my site, I've hacked together some pretty shoddy JavaScript that takes care of the highlighting when a page is active. However, the logic it uses is flawed, that is, it works up through the URL until it finds a match, and sets that link as active. So if two pages exist, say pageid=22 and pageid=220 they'll both be set as active. Can anyone suggest a better way of going about the problem? You can see an example of the problem in action on this page.
Also - on this page, I use some (again pretty shoddy) hacked together JavaScript to create the expandable segments. However, if the viewer doesn't have JavaScript turned on, I'm pretty much screwed, and they'll never see the description. Can anyone suggest a better way - or have links to where it's been done?
Thanks everyone
