Oright guys. I'm a bit of a beginner at this, so forgive me if I've made any glaring mistakes.
Anyway could you guys take a look at my prospective build and tell me if anything is incompatible; point out any rubbish products I've chosen or any bad design choices I've taken.

I'm looking for a decent gaming PC really. Something that'll play new games on higher settings for a year or two at least.

Anyway onto the build:

Processor: i5 2500k (I'll probably want to overclock it in the future when I upgrade again and I've heard this is a good processor to do this with)

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1024MB (Here's a link just in case I haven't put the full name in)

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3 (Rev3) (I'm not sure about this one to be honest, its just the cheapest Z68 I can find and I'm a filthy student so I'm a bit stingy, also link)

Memory: I'm torn between some, ** No Competitor hinting** own brand single stick 4gb 1333mhz or some patriot same type. (The own brand is only £15 and I'm pretty sure there's a reason for that.)

Hard Drive: 1TB Samsung Sata II (Link)

Power Supply: Once again I'm uncertain about this one I've read that 500W should be enough, and I reckon I'll just buy a new one later on when I want to upgrade by SLI'ing the GPU, but for now do you reckon this will do? Going to get corsair. I've heard bad things about non-standard brands.

Case: I have an old PC that I'll salvage the case from, it only fits ATX though. If things don't fit I have no qualms about getting a new one as I wont have spent any money on it.

DVD Drive: As above.

Thanks in advance, I know you must get loads of knobs like me joining and getting you to critique their build.

IDE, I'll be looking for a DVD drive then. Thanks for that, that would have been a pain in the proverbials.

Also didn't realise dual channel was better plus those prices were around what I was looking for.

Thank you kindly!

You're welcome.

I'm sure others will be along to critique your other components.

Just thought I'd start the ball rolling with the obvious stuff.

The Gigabyte GTX 560Ti comes with a higher standard overclock for the same price as its on offer this week. The customer reviews seem to be a bit hit and miss though

I had a look at this one, I was considering it. Problem is I cant start buying till I put money in the bank on monday, goddamn cash in hand payment!!! If the deal is still on next week I'll definately get it. Looked at some online reviews and they say its pretty good.

I had looked at this one actually had a look for some reviews and the one I found was pretty negative, I think I'm going to have to stop being stingy and stump up some more cash then.
Although, I was also considering this for a P67 its £75 on a different site.

Weekly offers update on Wednesday morning at 9am so as long as they have it in stock still then you could get it Monday/Tuesday.

Fantastic, reviews say it out performs other GTX 560Ti's which is good to hear. Thanks mate.
