Hi

I am about to purchase the following CDs. I have only ever listened to the R2DJ one and am buying the others off reccommendations. Please can anyone tell me if I am buying any stinkers, or if I should add anything else to my basket? :)

Also I am a bit of a sound quality freak so please tell me if any of these are poorly mastered

Thanks

I own your Klaxons, Arcade Fire and Bloc Party choice.

First off you need to own their previous albums for Arcade Fire (Funeral) and Bloc Party's.

I didn't like either Neon Bible or A Weekend in the City much at first.

A Weekend in the City in my opinion has too much studio work. Far too much sound mixing and note playing. The lyrics are relative to where the band are, and the first listen i thought i had waited and paid for something rubbish. After listening to the tracks numerous times on Shuffle i began to like them, especially when i got to know the words.

Neon Bible is a fantastic album and i listen to it most days whilst working. Arcade fire are probably my favourite band at the moment and i would love to see them live. Musical magic with unique sounds. Tracks 2 and 10 are my favorite. Especially in Track 10 (No cars go) when they all sing "Wooohhhhhhoooooooooooo".

You have a pretty good mix of fast beats and slow rhythmic music there, i would consider the below too.

The Fray - How to save a life
Get cape, Wear cape, Fly - The chronicles of a bohemian teenager
Stereophonics - A Thousand tree's
We are Scientists - With Love and Squalor
The Rakes - Capture Release / Ten new messages
The Subways - Young For Eternity

Arcade Fire's album is the best album of the last 7 years, no doubt. I'm not a fnaboy, I'm not exagerrating, its really that good. You think indie music is good with bands like bloc party or kings of leon, but these guys find a whole new level!

Recording in a chapel, organs banging away with a full orchestra...its so epic, but incredible music. Intervention is the best on the cd I would say.

A weekend in the city is pretty good too, not as good as Because of the times - kings of leon, which I think is the best conventional indie album of the year.

Interpol - Turn on the bright lights might be worth a lloook too.
