On a major cut at the moment trying to shift a load of excess bodyfat.

Current diet is a as follows:

Breakfast 2 weetibix with semi-skimmed milk
Mid morning snack- low fat yogurt
Lunch- Mixed veg( i.e. roasted peppers, onions, lettuce, tomato, sweetcorn, kidney bean and beensprout) and meat (turkey, chicken whatever) salad.
Afternoon snack- piece of fruit
Dinner- Grilled meat/fish and steamed veggies
Bedtime snack- low fat horlicks chocolate

Drinking gallons of water too.

Gym wise I am just hammering the cardio every day and doing full body workouts on low-weight high reps every other day.

I am not too worried about loosing muscle mass as I can soon put that back on. Just need to shed the flab and get trim ahead of a summer wedding :)

I think I am on the right track but just wanted to bounce some ideas around off other more experienced people on here.

Thanks for any info!

add a little protein before bedtime? you know the old quark routine or some low fat cottage cheese, etc etc.

Yeah, could swap my horlicks for a pot of cottage cheese. Only problem I have at the moment is am travelling a lot and staying in hotels so would have to see if there is room in the minibar to put the cottage cheese in!

break down your diet into carbs:protein:fats
work out the calories in total and the grams of each that you are taking in, then let us have a play :D

first up, looks like it lacks protein.

You should be worried about losing mass because it will make your skin look a bit more baggy, which is not good. might be worth hitting the cardio 4 times a week in the morning while maintaining the weights a few evenings, keeping the muscle mass (and using more calories each day) while burning the fat off.

I agree, it isn't very protein-rich. Just wondering where I might get some protein in though? Could swap afternoon snack for a handfull of unsalted nuts pehaps? Or drop some of the veggies from lunch and pack in some more meat?

Weighing stuff out is going to be a royal PITA but will have a looksie when I get a chance. A guesstimate of the calories would be circa 2000 though.

/Edit- I forgot to add, the wedding isn't mine so all the female members who read these threads you can stop crying now!

Diet looks fine to me providing you stick to it and havent just posted up a 'perfect day' to impress us. Sort your cardio so that its pre breakfast and steady (non intensive) the idea being you should be sweating at room temp but you should not be out of breath. Stick to that and your weights where you can and you should have no trouble dropping the pounds.

You see where i said stick to it? Thats the kicker. STICK TO IT IT WILL TAKE A FEW MONTHS AT LEAST

:) good luck m8y
