Hi guys, trying do do a better shot of the neighbours' baby (you may remember my first rubbish attempt). This is just some stuff I was mucking about with, but I'm hoping it's an improvement. As usual, any and all critique is welcome. Tried the finger in hand shot, but it was my finger (missed the focus when I asked him to do it!) so will be repeating that one next time. Wasn't sure how to compose the BG for that shot though (baby's face presumably?). Also, any comments on colour vs mono and on the processing very much appreciated. Thanks again!

wasn't sure about this processing. Went for a soft look, but I'm worried it just looks flat. Think I like the colour better, but perhaps that's just a shortcoming on my processing.

Again, I think I prefer the colour shot for this one, but I think the mono has some merit. Opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

May have gone overboard on this, but it wasn't my fav so why not.

Cheers for taking the time to reply!

Love the last one. The first one is nice, but could have been a bit sharper. Not a fan of the second one in either colour though I'm afraid; I just don't think it's a flattering photo.

Thanks chaps, and there was me thinking it was the weakest lol.

I'll see what I can do about sharpening the 1st one up (nifty 50 ain't too sharp when she's wide open).

Thanks for the feedback on the 2nd, thought it was a good composition contrasting him against the size of his dad's hand, but perhaps neglected the importance of facial expression in setting the tone. Shirt does look quite messy in that shot I suppose as well.
