I am looking for a ticket/CRM system to track and manage clients.

Does anyone have any suggestions, free or paid? I am looking for something to keep track of time spent for a client, as well as keeping their details central (contact, hosting info etc)

Does such a thing exist?
 
Over the counter ticketing / crm systems are almost always tailored to a specific business and never work right.

Can you not manage your clients in Access/Excel?

It really depends on what you need.

well i have built a ticketing and semi crm system, just as ever it needs more work. as I am constantly busy with clients, my own work gets sidelined.

you are right though, anything i find via google doesnt ever completly fit the bill...
 
Request Tracker is fairly adaptable, you need to do a bit of coding if you want it to make the tea but for basic use it does the trick and it's open source so it won't present any hindrances if you do want to modify it. It's primarily for ticketing rather than customer centric though if that's what you want.

SugarCRM is a popular full CRM solution, I've not much experience with it though, there's free and commercial options available.
