Cropping a circle shap in PS

If I have a circle img with an outside layer I want to crop, how do I do this in PS. I can select the elipse tool but it's difficult matching to to the size of the circle as you have to start top left and guess the starting position.

CTRL+R to get rulers shown. Drag guides to get the center of the circle. Just after you start dragging out the elipse selection from the center, hold SHIFT+ALT which will make the eclipse a perfect circle and make it grow from where you originally clicked as opposed to the top left.

Or drag 4 guides to get exact tangents and then use those to draw your circle.
