Cropping Videos

Wonder if anyone can help me with, what should be, a fairly simple question?

I have a TV card in my PC and use it to record films from TV that I then burn to DVD. Is there a freeware application that I can use to trim off the beginning and end of the recordings as I usually set the recorder for 5 mins before and after?

Presuming you're running XP, then Windows Movie Maker?

VirtualDub is the easiest I've seen but it will only output AVIs

That should do it! Hadn't even realised that app' was part of XP!
