Cross Trainers

I have just joined a gym and just use the weights and running machine at the mo, I hear good things about these cross trainer things and there seems to quite a few in the gym, I was thinking about having a blast on one, anyone got any tips and what settings and what good the y do, are they a high calorie burner?
 
Personally i'd say the best for of cardio is the one you enjoy doing the most so if they work for you then go for it.

How many calories you burn just depends on the intensity that you want to go at and the only way to find out which level is right for you is to try it out. Find one that makes you sweaty but doesn't lead to you collapsing after 2 minutes and take it from there.

ok i guess i will have a blast, i just hate using stuff i have not used before as i think am i doing this right! i once used a weights machine in a way no man would or should use it, which was quite amusing to others!
