An X1650XT aint DX10 compatible so wont be much use and DX10 games are a way off yet :)

Not really, I would not think there is much point, just a waste of money, I dont know if its even compatible tbh.

The x1650 cant be crossfired with the 2900, has to be cards from the same family, plus its an old Dx9 card.

As above it can be used with the 2900 solely as a physics card, but theres nothing using the HAVOK physics yet to use it like that, and nothing looks like coming either, so thats pointless as well, x1650 will just be sitting there doing naff all. :D

Yer i think you can crossfire it but it will only do physics. But theres nothin around yet for physics and ati say the 1800 series or 1900 series are the best to do physics.

well thats what you think but when i seen them working i what frames they give proven to my with mine own eyes i decided to go for 1 gig 2900xt

yes overclocked it can reach ultra speeds...but can you clarify what you are actually trying to say because i can't understand any of it lol.

I suggest getting your eyes tested then.

The HD2900XT has a different look to the 8800 series, maybe thats what he likes? By different look I mean 'softer' when lots of AA is applied.

Personally I prefer the look too since it smooths out transparent textures without the performance drop, but many people will definitely disagree. It depends on whether you want a razer-sharp image, jaggies 'n' all, or a softer image where you lose a little detail. I feel like I'm comparing Panasonic HD projectors to Sanyo HD projectors :p

I like sharp images, but withough jaggies.. I like AA too to smooth the jaggies but the HD2900XT fails at this which I hope improves.
