As above guys, what impact will both cards running @8x have?

Very little.

~2% reduction from x16/x16.

Just to clarify this is both cards running @8x not just the second one.

Benches seem pretty low

It shouldn't really be noticeable.

I've had to run one of my cards on 4x due to proximity of the 16x slots so 16x + 4x and have not seen any performance loss as a result, so far... 8x + 8x shouldn't make any perceivable difference.

Take a look here.

Those benchmarks show a very small reduction in performance going from x16/x16 to x8/x8.

x8/x8 is fine, about a 1% difference
