Crossfire 5850 & VRAM

I've managed to get GTA V up & running fine, except my 1GB 5850 can only cope with visual settings on normal (i.e. the lowest possible) while using all the VRAM.

I don't have the funds to upgrade properly yet, but can get hold of another 1GB 5850 for peanuts, so I'm thinking maybe try and Crossfire them.

I know this is going to sound like a complete noob question, but does adding another card like this mean I'll have a full 2GB to play around with, and not just a boost in frame rates?

It won't double your VRAM.

You'll get some gains in FPS, but wont be able to increase texture size or anything like that.

I'll cope until I can afford a more substantial upgrade.
