crossfire 6950 question

1) Some games mostly older one's will not benefit from sli configurations newer ones will though and you will see a performance increase
2) Yes they will produce a lot of heat since you have 2x the number of cards and there for 2x as much heat made.
3) Sli is great for games they will play all games on very high settings this years and next years.

As for mobo it depends on your budget though getting the 160 pound will be just fine.

Basically the main benefit of the EXtreme7 is the included NF200 chip which adds more PCI-E lanes so that you can realistically use more than 2 graphics cards.

There's a bit more to it than that but it's probably all you need to know.

If you're only going to use a maximum of 2 cards then the Extreme4 is all you need.

The Extreme 4 Gen 3 DOES support 3 cards in crossfire although they would run x8/x8/x4 around 10% slower than on the Extreme 7 at x16/x8/x8.

Which is why I said "realistically use more than 2 graphics cards", "there's a bit more to it than that but it's probably all you need to know" and "if you're only going to use a maximum of 2 cards then the Extreme4 is all you need" ;)

Just clarifying your advice ;)

More trolling, no wonder you have so many posts.

This post will be followed by yet another useless one, by you know who.

Perhaps you should read my posts and you'd find that most of them are related to giving advice and helping people with problems.

Only a small proportion of them are replying to posts such as your own when you just can't let it go when your posts are commented on.

The fact that you edited your post to add the second comment, after I'd already replied, just proves my point that you can't let it go ;)

Good, that's why I did it. I knew you'd be tempted to bite, it just proves that you're a stalker and can't resist commenting on my every post.
Thank you and good night :p

Why don't you wait for the new cards?

They are only a matter of week/s away, you could be getting faster performance while using less power and costing less.

Even if they were not to be released, the 6950's will still be there to buy
