Hello all,

I have a pair of 6950 in crossfire in my system. To date this has given me great performance at 1920x1080. But I am looking to get higher res and more fps (who isnt!!). I think I would prefer a single card this time due to heat and cooling in my rig. Mainly play BF3 (BF4 when out).

I cant find any good benchmarks for crossfire vs single latest gen cards, so thought I would come here and see what people think would be a good option upgrade.

Thanks for any advice given.

2x6950 should be on the lvl of 1x 7950/70.
If you want a single GPU/card with more performance you can get a gtx 780 or titan if you wanna save money and get more performance you can go Xfire 7950

Just another echo of the above two opinions.
I went from 6950 CF to 7970 CF. When i compared the 6950CF to a single 7970, in the same machine, there were so close it was tough to call. That was before last years big 7970 driver upgrades, so the 7970 might have a bit of an edge now.

I'd say if you want a single card, you wont get one that gives a significant boost over the 6950CF. If you want to go crossfire, 7950CF is pretty affordable and will give a massive boost - but at 1080p, you probably dont need it.

I only upgraded because I'm running eyefinity, and 6950CF was almost enough to run at the settings I wanted.
