Crossfire 6970's?

Hi guys,

I've got a fairly old rig now (completely skint!) and I'm tempted to crossfire the existing card, specs below:

Phenom II x6 1055T @ 4.2ghz - Asus RoG 890FX - 8GB XMS3 - HIS Radeon 6970 2GB - Samsung 840 Pro 128gb - XFX Modular 750W

Would I notice a decent performance leap moving from a single to a crossfire setup? Never tried one before, the card by itself is powerful and will run assassin's creed unity at 30fps on Good settings, but I want a bit more oomph.

Bang for buck would I be better investing in a new card totally or would crossfired 6970's be pretty strong?

Also would my XFX 750 support 2 of these cards?

So you'd recommend giving it a shot?

Mine is a HIS radeon 6970, does the manufacturer matter? It's tricky to find an exact copy of the same card of that age
