I was going to buy the HIS cards for crossfire.
Is it true that the CrossFire Edition master card is an XT and so will throttle an XTX back to its speeds when in CrossFire configuration. The XTX is for single-card systems only?
If so is it easy enough to clock both XT cards in crossfire mode to XTX speeds and do you think the extra cooling that comes with the HIS cards will cope?
Thanks

As far as i know the XTX will not throttle, they both run at their own seperate speeds, so you have an XT, and an XTX in Crossfire, actually just like x1800 XL Crossfire, there was no XL master, just an XT master, so when you paired them together you actually had an XT and an XL in Crossfire both running at their own seperate speeds, only downside of that was the XT master was more expensive, where as an XL master would have been a bit cheaper. :)

The XT will easily clock to XTX speeds as the XTX is not that much faster, a very small overclock is all you need to hit XTX speeds, and the HIS cooler will handle it fine, they are excellent coolers those.

Welcome to the forums btw. :)
