Crossfire and Different GFX Card Models?

Hi, I've got a 5670 and was wondering if I could get it in crossfire with a higher card (like 5870 or even 6xxx series). Or does crossfire need two of the same card models and same memory. Would the faster GFX if it works then be bottlenecked?

Afaik it's restricted to cards from the same series, so it would need to be another 5670.

Sometimes it can work, but the more powerful card always down-clocks itself to match the power of the weaker one. It only works with cards that are pretty close, like a 5870+5850.

the 5870 and 5850 are the same series cards to person above.

Must be the same series as in 58** 56** 57**
