Hi, I have crossfire 5850s, but they don't seem to play nice on GTA IV, I see actually no performance increase AT ALL. Someimes, it's even worse?

Why could this be? I'm on the latest AMD drivers if that's any help?

Over people seem to say GTA runs great in crossfire, but I just can't seem to get it working :(

Any help is muchly appreciated!
 
Don't have many other demanding games, it worked in Mafia II, but that really isn't as much as s resource hog as GTA. Any games that work well with crossfire that I could try?

try unigine heaven and see if your results stack up with others' with the same cards. The purpose of it is really to see if x fire is working properly in your system; maybe one of the cards is faulty?
 
Gta4 doesn't like crossfire, even with no restrictions it ran poorly on 2 6950's.

Disable crossfire and try again :)
 
Crossfire has never worked with gta 4 on my laptop. I have to disable it before starting the game or it goes to Min settings and will not change them? Every other game I have tried works very well.

hmm, that means the cards seem fine.

Keep trying to turn everything on and off. Just had a quick look on teh interwebz and x fire support seems to be extremely erratic :/
 
Had horrible performance using crossfire for GTA IV. Disabled it and it was perfect.

I tried all sorts of profiles, console commands and various other fixes but nothing worked as well as just using one card.
 
Try the icenhancer mod. The newest version 2.0 runs in the latest patch. But the most popular version if it is 1.25. Increases the graphics no end and does increase fps.

Just try the popular gta mod sites to get the info on it.
