So everythings been going sweet until i noticed abit of a annoyance. My GPU's idle properly when not doing anything i.e. just on deskstop which is fine however whenever i open Internet explorer, my clocks on GPU 1 will shoot up to MAX Stock settings 850 @1200... And of course temps will rise to about 60c which is annoying because the fan will spin up to keep it cool.

Is there any fix to this or is it just a CrossfireX thing that i have to live with???

It's not meant to do that as I'm running 5870 crossfired, only have 1 IE9 window open (typing this reply!) and mine are running 400/1200 and 157/319 (core/memory). Think I remember someone saying the 1200 memory is to stop multi-monitor problems, but could be wrong.

Which drivers and CAP are you using? Also, what do you have open in the browser window - YouTube, sites with flash ads, etc?

Disable smooth scrolling in the IE options and they should then remain at idle.

I noticed spikes in clock speeds with my setup in IE and after trial and error found this to be the culprit.

Maxi's method worked a dream, thanks man!

first gpu idling properly now and second is asleep :)
