Totaly pointless as the the extra 1gig of vram on the 4870 will be wasted.
You have to remeber that a 4870X2 is just 2x4870s strapped to the same PCB with an internal crossfire bridge chip.
i would also have to question the benifits if any over a single 4870X2 anyway.
