Hi

I have the antec p182 case and am running 2 6950's in xfire. Everything runs fine but now I have 2 cards I have noticed a rise in temps on the gpu's which was to be expected really. The top card sometimes hits 80 degrees and bottom card a couple of degrees less. I just wondered what I could do to bring down the temps a little. Currently I have noctua 120mm fan pulling in air at the front and then one at the back pushing air out. Is there any better way of cooling the graphics without me having to buy a whole new case with a mount for a fan on the side?

Cheers

You could just get a 120mm and zip tie it to the cards, or get some double sided foam tape and stick it to the top of them (i've done that before on an old 4850 setup :D ).

Just helps to force air into the space between the cards.

An even smaller fan would work as well. In my old generic no-name case I had a 60mm fan ghetto rigged with elastic bands to blow air directly into the gap between cards.

Thanks for the reply's guys :)

To be honest I don't really want to go ghetto, taping fans and that to the cards. I kinda like my PC's to be fairy neat. Looks like I might have to invest in a new case then with a side mounted fan this time. I might as well as I've virtually replaced everything on my computer and I originally only wanted to upgrade the cpu lol. This hobby is far too addictive!

Yup. 80 is fine. Mine have been running about that for 2 years no with no problems.

If it's really bothering you, don't buy a new case, just put a fan in the side of your existing one.

You've just gotta cut a hole that's around 120mm across and then buy a fan-grill to go over the top. The bigger grills you can get will cover the edges of the hole, so it doesn't matter if your metalwork skills aren't great. Once the grill is in place it'll all look neat and "non-ghetto".

Thanks guys :)

I'll probably just leave it as it is for now. Like you say 80 isn't so bad and it's really only on games where I don't use vsync that I see them temps.
