Crossfire DDR3/4???

I Have just bought a 3870x2 card and to keep the power consumption in line but bump up performance i was looking at fitting an extra 3870 in crossfire. Now the x2 card i have is DDR3 so do i need to fit a single 3870 with DDR3 or is one with DDR4 ok?

In theory you can crossfire any two cards from the same series, so you'll be OK, they're both 3800's, but they will both run as if they were the slower card, personally I'd try and get same cards

According to this from ATI the ony other cards compatible are another 3870x2 or a 3870 but doesnt give any ideas on DDR3/4.... Just wondering if it will cause any issues...
