Crossfire different brands?

Hi, just bought a Sapphire 7970 OC boost and wanted two but only had one left by the end of the day

Anyways way maybe going to get the Sapphire HD 7970 VAPOR-X Edition too. Would this be ok and how will the clock speeds be affected?

Don't even think i'll need the second card yet will find out after benchmarking.

I'm using 2 crossfire'd 5850's now and there great only struggle with BF3 but maybe my old CPU was the bottleneck?

yeah sure you can,it will just run at the slowest cards speed,unless you match the clocks on both cards

Old one was Q9400 @3.4ghz

New one is i7 3280!

It doesn't actually. They run at their own clock speeds.

That's true,what I ment was your only gonna be as fast as the fastest card
